What did medieval people wear?

Medieval warriors wore mesh outfits and steel helmets with shields and swords. they needed these things for protection from opposing enemies which would hurt them, as this time the mesh was able to stop the piercing of stabbing swords and daggers. They wore just plain clothes underneath the armor for comfrot

I believe chain mail is only worn into battle to to it's heavy weight. Most people simply wore plain garment of simply construction made from whatever was availible.
