Why do people cheat when they are in supposedly committed relationships?

For some people, the act of cheating is such a thrill that it becomes an addictive high like any other drug. Not only do many individuals like this ultimately prefer multiple partners, they get additional arousal from engaging in a sexual relationship that they're not supposed to be engaged in.

There are a number of theories as to why people cheat, and everybody has their own reasons. The two deciding factors usually come down to this though: 1. They are usually very selfish, and 2. There is something missing in the relationship, and they decide to find it elsewhere. I personally think it's more #1.
