Why do I have trouble swallowing food?

Sounds like for some reason your throat is swollen. It could be many things. You could have had an allergic reaction to something and your throat closed part way. It also could be something like Acid Reflux which is causing your throat to become sore from all the acid erosion of the esophogus. Call your doctor.

You need to see a doctor immediately. You could be having an allergic reaction to the food you are eating. Alternatively, you could have muscle weakness or vascular problems that are far more serious. Get to an Emergency Room as soon as possible.

First cause of dysphagia - difficulty in swallowing is tonsillitis, quinsy i. e. preitonsillar abscess, carcinoma tumor anywhere between tongue and stomach or uvulitis [rare]. Pouch in esophagus or 'achalasia cardia'.

This is called dysphagia, something could be wrong with the throat. The muscles contract and cannot move the food from the mouth to the stomach.

I doubt you have some growth inside your and you practied breathing through mouth. When you swallow food your throat and nose are blocked simultaneously. Better consult an ENT specialist.
