Why do I get ps2 corrupt saves?

I am trying to save on my ps2 and keep getting the message corrupt saves.

It sounds like you have a bad memory card or the memory card port is bad. You should try using a different memory card and see if that works.

The reason may be a defective memory card. The card where yuo are trying to save may have become damaged from usage. Chack if it is phisically damaged, if it was dropped or exposed to water, extreme geat or any other stress. Also, this may happen when you shut the system down while saving. Try to delete the corrupt data.

Corrupted saves typically mean issues with your memory card. Consider if it is an official/liscensed card, or a third party. Third party cards have a higher rate of failure.

Two common causes are that when a game is saving you either turn off the ps2 or unhook your controller which interrupts the saving process.
