As i know (cause i am using a HP laptop as well) the only reason you get the message no signal is because there is no connection to the internet(wi fi). And this may be because there are no connections or you have not turned on you wi fi connection.

If you monitor is reading "No Signal", then it could be a number of reasons. A few common ones are that the cable that goes into your computer is not in the right location, might be coming loose, or your computer is not powered on.

It means that there is no signals from your vga card. If the vga card is overheated, then it will shut down and there will be no signals.

No signal means there is no data being transferred from the computer desktop (video card) the the monitor. You will get no signal, if the monitor is not plug in. Verify the connections between the two. If the computer has onboard video, try to attach a cheap video card to it.

Not a big problem. Check the signal cable of your monitor which goes to your cpu signal port. There will be definitely a lose conduct if cpu has no problems and runs gud.
