Why do girls seem to be sad more often than boys?

There are several contributing factors. One of those factors is that girls tend to show their emotions more than boys. There is the turn of phrase that real men don't cry. Additionally women tend to worry more than men do and worry can bring about emotions of sadness. Lastly due to hormones women like to cry for no real reason.

I will take a guess and say that it has to do with hormones. Periods make girls PMS and do all sorts of strange things. It could also be that girls are just more emotional that guys are. If a girl sees something sad, it is probably more likely to make her feel sad.
