Why do dogs lick other dogs' lips?

Dogs lick other dogs for a variety of reasons. It can lick for hygienic reasons, to communicate and to show affection. Dogs often lick other dog's wounds to promote healing.

Dogs lick other dogs's lips only because of the salt content probably from eating dog food which contains sodium hence the reason why dogs lick other dog's lips, it has nothing to do with affection whatsoever and some dogs are more playful than others and like licking for no reason.

The dogs usually lick the lips of the other dog in order to show affection and love for each other and it is almost similar to human behaviour when showing love and affection.
