Common with younger dogs, the condition known as coprophagia is the condition where dogs eat their own feces. When dogs do this, it is also usually due to a mineral deficiency.

Sometimes a dog will eat feces to clean up after themselves. They also might have worms that is causing them to loose nutrition.
