Their are numerous possible reasons dogs chew on their feet. One is simply that their feet itch or something on their foot is bothering them, so they chew on it to relieve the irritation. Another possible reason could be that the dog is bored and is chewing on its own feet to relieve some of its boredom.

Sometimes dog chew on their feet for the same reason we chew on our fingernails. It can be a nervous habit. Providing a variety of chew toys will help lessen this habit, but it may still happen when there is anxiety over something. Some dogs chew or lick their feet to groom themselves when their feet are messy.
