Why cheat on someone you love?

I believe people cheat on people they love because of stress factors. They cannot cope with the issues life has brought upon them and have an incredible low amount of self esteem and respect.

Some people have problems like sexual addiction and have trouble controlling their behavior, even if they love the person they are with. They can go to rehab for this.

If you truly love someone, you wouldn't. Someone who cheats is looking for something that is missing. Some mistake love for loneliness, an esteem booster, etc.

Many times, cheating on someone is an indication that there is not love present there anymore. As much as we would like to think otherwise, love is not always forever, and it can cool or even become boring if people do not choose to work on their relationships, and hence they cheat.

Low self esteem, like someone mentioned here already. Why be in a relationship while consistently looking to get into another, only to hurt people in multitudes?
