Right now your words mean nothing to the girl you cheated on. You've lost her trust, and may never get it back. You can do things that show that you can be trusted, but only time and your "good behavior" will get your girlfriend to trust you again, if she doesn't find someone else in the mean time.

Don't bother. If you care enough about a girl to call her your girlfriend, you deserve all her hate when you betray her. If you don't love her let her go. Cheating on her will hurt her 500 times more than simply telling her you need to move on.

Be honest, tell her you thought you wanted something else and have seen that you were wrong. Tell her you know it is up to you to rebuild your relationship; be willing to take a step back and start doing so. Be open and expressive from now on.
