This would depend greatly on the error you are getting. The most common reasons are: 1. You dont have permission to modify the document you are trying to save. 2. You dont have permissions to the location you are trying to save to. Trying entering the error you get into google, you will likely find the answer.

The most common reason is because the installed version is not genuine or valid. Known cases of invalidity were due to a fraudulent product key, expired (trial) version, or installation error. Other likelihoods include editing of a corrupt or damaged file, invalid file name (contains inappropriate characters), system incompatibility, or perhaps even a bug in the software.

Reenter your product key. If that doesn't work, you can always try OpenOffice. It's free, and it saves in Word 2007 format, or any format you need! Try it out!

If I remember correctly word 2007 used a different type of file format than the other versions of Word, and you may have to save the file as SAVE AS the type of document file you need.
