Why can I not rotate a text box using Word?

A text box is an object used in Word to emphasize a paragraph. Not practical to rotate text box. If you wish to have text rotated vertically use WordArt.

The reason for that is that you can't rotate a text box. It's maybe an option to use Word Art in Word.

Text box is made to write text. Rotating the text box cant rotate text it holds. So this functionality is not provided in Microsoft Word. Also the rotation option is grayed out and so it is unapplicable in Word. The same thing can be cross checked in Format text/size option.
