Why are the leaves on my plants turning red?

This depends entirely on the type of plant you have. Some types of plants turn red as a natural process, it's just a feature of that plant. With my experience with plants I wouldn't worry about the leaves turning red, its yellow and/or brown that is concerning. This could be an indication of over-watering, or lack of iron.

the leaves on the plants after some days stops taking the enough of oxygen as the pores in it are closed and thus the color of the leaves starts converting from green to red. In some plants the color also changes from green to yellow.
