Why are soft drugs in America illegal?

Well many drugs that are now illegal were first made legal to protect big companies and there industries. The reason they are still illegal is to benefit prescription drug companies.

Soft drugs are almost as addictive as hard drugs. And addicts typically are unable to work, their "fix" becoming a burden everyone else must unfairly support. And because they cannot work, they fall into crime to pay for the habit.

Basically it's because people do stupid things on these drugs. Even though they're considered soft drugs people have gotten high and injured or killed other people. If people used them responsibly it could work out being legal.

There is no obvious answer however, the primary reason is that the FDA feels as though current pharmaceutical drugs work better to treat illnesses than let's say marijuana for example.
