Indian womens wears dot i. e. sindhoor to maintain their husbands lives. This tradition is brought up by old peoples since long years ago. Only married womens wears this. Some may not wear that is according to their wish. But this type of womens may not get a good place in front of others.

Married Indian women wear a red dot on their foreheads. This signals that she is married and taken. Single women have no dots.
