Herman Melville wrote Bartleby the Scrivener, the character who famously refuses to work, saying "I choose to not to" or something like that.

Herman Melville wrote Bartleby the Scrivener. He is the same author who wrote Moby Dick. Bartleby was written in 1853 and it was published anonomously in a series of two parts.

Herman Melville of "Moby Dick" fame wrote the novella, which was published anonymously in two parts in Putman's Magazine (November and December 1853). Melville made some minor edits before it was published again in 1856.

I searched this on the internet and found out that Herman Melville is the person that wrote this book. He also wrote Moby Dick, to my suprise. I didnt know that. How interesting?
