Who wrote sonnet 18?

It's beautiful, but I don't know who wrote it.

Answer by  John13 (186)

Sonnet 18, which begins with the line, "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?" is by William Shakespeare. It's a lovely poem, probably his best known and most often quoted, because he is saying that, in his eyes, the beauty of the person he loves will never fade.
