There were two "Daddy Long Legs". The 1919 original was remade in 1955 as a romantic comedy musical. It involves an older man who visits a French orphanage and becomes enchanted with a female orphan. He secretly pays for her education. They meet years later when she is 18 and then fall in love with each other.
