Daddy Long Leg spiders are actually venomous. They do prey on smaller insects. However, the mouth of the Daddy Long Leg is so small, it cannot bite through human skin. Therefore, they are not dangerous to humans.
This is just an urban legend. There are a few animals referred to as "daddy-long-legs", and none of them is capable of poisoning people. Some don't even bite at all.
