Who is the Selmer behind Selmer New York Saxaphones?

I'd like to know some of the history of my sax.

Henri Selmer was a clarinetist with the Paris Opera Orchestra and founder of the Selmer Company in 1855. At that time he made clarinets. In 1904 his brother displayed them at the St Louis Exhibition and it resulted in a shop opening in New York. Henri started making saxophones then.
