Dr. Harry Coover was given credit for inventing the adhesive. He was trying to make a clear substance that could be used for gunsights for soldiers. That failed and later in life he discovered that this sticky glue needed no heat or pressure to bond and would hold fast to anything, thus, Super Glue was born.
