Country music has always had a collection of talented female artists. Some examples of these are The Judds (or Wynonna Judd as a solo artist), Tanya Tucker, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Reba McEntire, June Carter Cash, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, and Loretta Lynn. Some of these are still in the business and others have retired or passed away.

Right now I'd say that Taylor Swift is on the top of the up and coming rrie Underwood and Miley Ray Cyrus are excellent as well, And are carrying the touch handed to them by The likes of Shania Twain ,Faith Hill ,Patty Loveless, Dixie Chicks, And LeAnn Rimes.They Are the Top contemporary's of the last 20 years.

There are many famous females in country music. In the late 1990s to the early 2000s, Shania Twain from Canada was the most famous female country music artist. Trisha Yearwood was also very popular. In the past couple of years, the biggest names have been Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus.
