Emperor Constantine for the Catholic church, Martin Luther for the Lutheran Church (the year 1517): He did not approve some of the practises done by the Catholics at that time, so he broke away and founded the church considered to be the first protestant church. John Smyth founded the Baptist church (circa 1608)after breaking away from the Anglican Church.

For Catholics, the founder is Jesus Christ and the apostles. Jesus established Peter as the first leader of the apostles and he became Bishop of Rome. For Lutherans, the founder was Martin Luther in 1517 and Baptists have no one founder, but have roots in the ideas of John Calvin.
