The smallest unit of information on a computer is called a byte. kb is shorthand for "kilobyte" and mb is shorthand for "megabyte." A kilobyte (kb) contains 1000 bytes. A megabyte (mb) contains 1000 kilobytes, which is 1,000,000 bytes. Therefore, a mb (megabyte) is bigger than a kb (kilobyte).

A megabyte (mb) is larger than a kilobyte (kb). These prefixes, along with giga, tera, peta (and others), create shortcuts for describing how many bytes are on a hard disk or RAM or whatever.

Kilobyte, represented by KB, means 1000 bytes. Megabyte, represented by MB, means one million, or 1,000,000, bytes. So a megabyte is larger than a kilobyte. The byte represents memory capacity in a computer. More bytes means more memory. If choosing between 5kb and 5mb, 5 mb is 1000 times larger.

Mb (or megabytes) are many times larger than kb (or kilobytes). Depending on what the function is, either the binary or decimal (base 10) system is used to count them. Therefore, a megabyte is either 1000 (decimal system) or 1024 (binary system) kilobytes. This means it is 1000 times as big.

Mb is much larger than kb. Mb stands for megabyte, which is a million bytes. Kb stands for kilobyte, which is a thousand bytes. Both are units of memory, and mb is a much larger unit of measurement. One mb is ten times larger than one kb. In almost any case, you would rather have mb than kb.
