Any small "ornamental" species will good. The most common are guppies and goldfish. The more expensive breeds are angel fish and clown fish.

Fishbowls are not a truly healthy environment for any fish. Even hardy fish like goldfish or bettas need adequate filtration, heat, and light for optimum health.

The only fish I have found that is suited well for a bowl is bettas, or siamese fighting fish. They live well in bowls, only one to a bowl. Some people have been able to keep goldfish in bowls, but I have not been successful with this. I like bettas, since they are easy to keep and colorful.
