I have an orange and black pet fish, what kind of fish is it?

If it is a small aquarium fish then it more than likely is in the Mollie family. If it is a large fish, it may be a type of goldfish.

A black colored fish with a larger mouth with respect to its body and is "marbled" with orange (could be lines or spots) is an Oscar. they are extremely popular fish. They are predatory and aggressive so choose tank mates wisely. When they get large they will eat live fish.

my fish is fairly red and is shedding it's tail. it was cute when i purchased it but now i don't even want to look at it. gross!!
