The detrusor muscle (bladder muscle) is located on the left hand side of your upper body beneath the stomach, but above the pelvic floor muscles, and behind the pubic bone.

The bladder is lined with smooth muscle tissue which you have no control over. A uterus is the same type of tissue, the movement or contraction is involuntary. As smooth muscle is stretched, it will reach a threshold limit and will begin to contract. The muscle that helps you stop urine flow is the pubococcigeal muscle.

Your bladder muscle is located next to the urethra which is in the urinary system. The bladder muscle is pretty small compare to some of the under muscles and it helps by filtering out anything not pure in your body.
