There is some dispute over this fact as it is difficult to measure the human bladder. Most sources seem to believe that the urge to urinate begins somewhere between 200 and 400ml. Most bladders can accommodate about double this amount, and some believe that the bladder is capable of holding a liter of urine, which is the equivalent of 1000ml.

The average size of the human bladder is about 13 ounces. Some bladders can be expanded but generally speaking they hold about 300 to 1000ml.
