Polar bears generally stay on ice and follow prey. During the summer months when the ice can melt away, polar bears are forced on land or onto more solid ice.
I believe that polar bears live in the same habitat in the summer that they do in the winter as the weather in their habitats is the weather that they are adjusted to living in.
