What I would do is buy one place mat. This has the size you want. Next buy material and batting. Sew the place mat and fill with batting. Sew shut and you have your placemat. You can make matching napkins with decorative rings. You can also do this with plastic table cloths.

You can do a google search with the words patterns for holiday place mats. You can also check in crafts and hobby stores. Libraries sometimes have patterns that can be checked out.

You can purchase a book of crochet/knit patterns on Amazon or at craft store. Or you can search on-line at yarn companies, like Lion Brand; or sites like Creative TV.

You can go to your local craft store and look at some of the home decorating books, these usually have some great step by step instructions on how to make all kinds of beautiful home decor. You could take one idea and tweek the colors to be more holiday oriented!

I make my own patterns. I take cardbord cut out the designs I want and then take my fabric cut out the designs and then I sew them into place and I like that because I can make them any size and shape I want.
