How can I get melted wax off of a cotton placemat?

To remove wax from most surfaces, melting is the easiest solution. Set your iron to low, put a paper towel between the iron and the surface to absorb the wax.

I would freeze the wax and pick it off the placemats. Some people would melt the wax and scrub it off with a brush. I have done it both ways and both ways works.

You can try freezing the place mats, and see if all the wax will pop off, OR place a paper towel over spots and iron- wax should stick to paper.
