better gift than a book? Amazon while having a plethora of titles and subjects has just the idea for you. Not only is this a book on the first travels of Magellan but the original was written by his contemporaries. Now translated this exciting paperback is being a sold at the bargain price of £19.99.

Larger cities have stores that specialize in reproductions of antique maps. Check in the phonebook's Yellow Pages under "maps" or do a search on line for " Magellan antique maps." Be sure to be specific in the search so as to avoid confusion with information about the Magellan GPS system.

Amazon has a decorative Magellan straights of Chile map for sale available. If this map doesn't do the trick, the library of congress website offers map reproductions from that time period. Look in the prints and photographs reading room. It is searchable so you can find if any Magellan maps are available.
