In order to find a birth certificate, one should contact the county in which they were born. You then need to contact that county to find which office would have records of any and all births in that particular area. Send a letter requesting a copy of the certificate.

You need to know what state and what county you were born in. Once you have that information, go to the courthouse of that state/county and request a birth cerificate.

Birth certificates are usualy kept by the country of your birth in the vital records department. That department may be and usually is part of the Country Health Department or in some larger communmities it is a seperate department. Simply find your country seat and go to the country offices

Many states and provinces have central birth registries or vital records offices that can reproduce original birth certificates or print record abstracts. Check directory assistance in your state's capitol city.

The state you were born in will typically have a Vital Records department that handles birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage licenses. There is typically a small fee that varies by state, but obtaining a copy of your birth certificate from the Vital Records Department typically involves filling out a form and paying the fee.
