During the off season, deals can be found just about anywhere. A drive up Pacific Coast Highway will take you from sprawling cities to cozy little towns. Big Sur offers both ocean views and majestic pines. Carmel and the 17 mile drive and beach combing at Pebble Beach.

La Jolla in Southern California is a very romantic get-away. I would suggest going on a walk by the cliffs overlooking the ocean at sunset.
