Your cross member is usually located underneath the car. Its placed either parallel or perpindicular to the body of the car. The bushings are around where it bolts up.

Crossmember bushings are located under the hood of the car. There you'll find the engine and the alternator. Within the alternator, this is where you'll find the crossmember bushings. The bushings work with the magnets in the alternator to produce electrical power for the car and to charge the car battery.

On a Dodge Intrepid, the crossmember bushings are located directly underneath the solenoid valve. They are difficult to access without removing the carburator, though.

Your question is a little too vague. You need to specify which crossmember you are trying to locate. The main one I can think of is the transmission crossmember. It is the brace used to mount the transmission to the frame. There may also be a crossmember that mounts the engine to the frame also.

These type of bushings are normally located under the actual car. They will have a long shape to them and be very thin. They can be taken off if necessary.
