They are prevalent in the Pacific from Japan and California down to Chile and Australia. Though preferring temperate waters, they're prolific in the Atlantic from Nova Scotia to South Africa.
Most bottlenose dolphins are found in tropical to temperate waters. Some species, and subspecies, can be found in the Black Sea, the Pacific Ocean, and around India.
