The Green Arrow first appeared in comics in 1941. He was later paired with the Green Lantern as a sort of socially-conscious crime-fighting team. This took place in 1970. He was in a limited run solo comic series in 1983.

First published by DC Comics in 1941, Green Arrow was an archer who dressed like Robin Hood. His arrows were tricky but each had a function. Green Arrow's secret identity was billionaire Oliver Queen who also was a former mayor of Star City. Mort Weisinger and George Papp were creators.

Green Arrow appeared first in "More Fun Comics #73," published in November, 1941, which he shared with other characters. From 1946 to 1960 he appeared in Adventure Comics, another anthology. Starting in 1969, he was featured in comics also featuring Green Lantern. More recently, comics have featured Green Lantern alone.
