The Battle of Hastings was in October 1066. This battle is considered by many as William II's gain of English power since this is when he William II of Normandy killed Herold II of England.

The Battle of Hastings took place in the year 1066. This battle was important because it allowed the Normans to conquer England. William the First took control of England and made significant organizational changes to how the government worked in England. He centralized some powers and standardized how local government was ruled eventually making England more powerful than neighboring countries.
