The earliest you can take a pregnancy test is eight days past the day you ovulated, or five days before your missed period. However, it is best to wait until the day of your missed period to test, as pregnancy hormones will be stronger then. It is also best to use your first morning urine when testing.

You can take most early pregnancy tests up to 1 week before your next period is supposed to begin. There are very rare false positives, but if you take it too early, you may get a false negative due to lack of hormones. If you wait until your period is due, you can take any type of pregnancy test.

I should give yourself a pregnancy test after your period is two weeks late. My experience was the careprovider told me to wait after four weeks. It is truly up to you though. You should go to a OB/GYN though to see.

A pregnancy test will be accurate 14 days following ovulation. Women usually ovulate on cycle days 12-14, cycle day 1 being the first day of your period.
