In the wild, parakeets breed from October to December. However, in captivity they can breed almost any time of the year as long as they have the right conditions. These include an appropriately warm temperature, good food and nest boxes. Of course, the birds must also be in good health.

Parakeets can mate all year round if their environment is right. Temperature should be at 65-75 degrees. The best breeding season is from October through March.
