The mark of the season's are the equinox and solstice. The equinox is when the hours of daylight equal the hours of night, while the summer solstice is the longest day of the year and the winter solstice is the shortest. This year the autumnal equinox was on September 22. Because of the Earth's orbit, the date does change.
