Pergolide has limited side effects. Recent studies on another drug, Cyproheptadine, has shown it is not as effective as Peroglide. Current studies on Trilostane have shown in can reverse some of the symptoms related to equine brain tumors. Feeding antioxidants, such as Vitamins E and C, and Chasteberry are being looked into as possible treatments for equine brain tumors.

Cancers in animals can be treated in animals the same way as in people: radiation therapy and/or surgery. However, very few people are near a vet experienced in these treatments.

It all depends on what kind of cancer you are talking about and it's location and stage, most of them there is not much you can do about by the time you find out about it. basically two approaches: surgery and chemotherapy.

Outside of the surgeries there really isn't anything other than trying to keep them comfortable while they are trying to get through it I feel really bad for you and your animal I lost my horse to cancer 2 years ago but there truly isn't alot of hope ven with the surgery there is no garuntee for survival.

Stem cell treatments are available for animals. But before proceeding any treatment at all, you will have to get your dog examined very well. This will determine the best treatment.
