I would test the soil to make sure its right for your grass. You may also want to spread fertalizer and mild amounts of water.

This happened to me to not long ago so heres what I did. I watered 4 times a day approx ten minutes each time and I added scotts fertalizer once a month. I avoided mowing the lawn at all until it grew tall and mostly green than I mowed using the tallest setting.
