These plants prefer acidic soil with a PH number of 4.5 or 5. These plants love the sun but can grow in shaded areas if necessary. They prefer colder environments. Before and during the fruit bearing season, blackberries need plenty of fertilizer and water for optimal fruit production.

They are one of the easiest barry bushes to grow. They do not require any maintainance and they grow and produce very quickly. For great tips about growing them do a net search on them.

Make sure to choose a variety that is thornless and disease resistant. Find plants that state they will grow fully erect to keep plants off the ground after fruiting.

First off, blackberry bushes thrive in full sunlight. They can tolerate a little shade as well though. You must not plant blackberry bushes near any areas where other fruit or vegetable plants may have grown, because these areas will be prone to bug infestations.

The blackberry plant needs a sunny place in your garden prefurable close to a wall. It needs some support and watering, because the wall will make the place dry. Use a wide hole and a quality furtiliser. Prune the plant (or shrub) after the fruit periode for a good crob next year.
