I suggest you read the label to see how many cooling watts the A C requires double that number and buy your generator with a higher number .

Residential AC power consumption is about 1. 5 hp/ton. So a 2-ton unti is about 3 hp. 746 watt/hp = 746 x 3 = 2238 watts. So 3000 watt generator.
