What should I think about before picking out Christmas stocking holders?

If you have small children who could pull the stockings down it may not be a good idea to get the heavy ones that go over the mantel. If you have small children they have hooks that attach to your wall but come off really easy. Otherwise there are the traditional heavy ones.

When choosing a Christmas stocking holder choose one that has substantial weight to it, the heavier the better. Light stocking holders tend to tip once the stockings have been filled. Also measure your mantel so that you pick one that fits completely on the mantel for stability.
