Windows Media often has it's own codec that are sometimes restrictive. This means that if you want to add an audio track to windows movie maker you have to convert your mp3s to the correct codec with Windows Media Converter. FLV files are most of the time very compact and portable.

Well I would assume your trying to use windows media player to try and play FLV files, if that's the case you're totally off. You need to download FLV player.
