What should I know about transplanting a butterfly bush?

Prepare new location in sunny place with well-drained, composted soil. Dig bush with as much roots as possible. Water frequently until settled. Prune back to soil in winter.

Transplant in spring or fall when the bush is dormant. Prune bush and dig up as much of the roots as possible. Move into well-drained soil amended with compost.

I have done this before in the fall. I dug the root ball around the plant and moved it to the new location. The next year it was perfect condition.

Moist is the very main requirement with good sunlight and drained soil, and watering facility is also a main requirement.
