If it is the estate of a minor, assets, if any, revert to the parents. If of an adult child, it goes to their spouses, children, then parents.

A child will not be able to make decisions about their estate until they reach a certain age ( usually 18 ) and a responsible adult will need to.

A child under the age of 18 cannot own an estate. However, someone could have left an estate in trust or inheritance for a child.
